Biography
Sechene Stanley Gololo is a Senior Lecturer at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, School of Sciences and Technology, South Africa. He is a researcher in Biochemistry with a PhD degree in Phytomedicine. Dr Gololo has supervised several completed Masters Students and currently supervising more masters and PhD students and he is working for the last 10 years on medicinal plants.
Research Area
Dr Sechene Stanley Gololo research focuses on ethnobotanical as well as pharmacological aspects of the use of South African medicinal plants as antioxidant and antimicrobial agents. His research interest also include the investigation of the influences of environmental factors on the accumulation of bioactive components of medicinal plants used by different South African communities. His contribution to this field includes 3 chapters in books on phytochemical analysis and composition of medicinal plants, 17 indexed peer-reviewed articles and presentation at national and international research meetings. He currently serve as a Reviewer, Member of Editorial Board and Academic Editor of several international journals.
